Community College Disadvantages

While there are many different benefits that can be associated with going to a community college there are a few negatives I would not make the mistake of not mentioning. We all like to look at the positive side of things and the good in my opinion of public colleges, at least as a basis for studying university is the worst of the worst. However, if you look at a community college as a way to choose whether it is for graduates only or if you have plans to move on to university level when you graduate you should see a bigger picture and not just sunlight and flowers.

The first thing you need to be aware of, and this applies especially to those students who have transfer plans, is that you should always contact the college you intend to attend next to make sure that the courses you are taking are at community college level. they are in line with the basic needs of the university. In most cases they are similar enough to be considered compatible but there are exceptions and it is better to get this sooner than later. If you are planning to go to a university near the community college you are attending you should check and see if they have some kind of speech contract that will allow associate's degree graduates to go on without stitching.

Many states are enacting and enacting laws that require colleges in their respective provinces to accept public loans as transfer credits in an effort to retain qualified government employees. Some universities even offer degree programs for graduates to allow for access to students living away from the campus in order to access previously denied educational opportunities. Of course if you live in one of these provinces, the past corruption may now work for you.

Many community colleges do not provide housing opportunities and most of what they do is still pedestrian campuses rather than residential areas. Instead of spending money on housing, these colleges often save money to finance their education projects. Community colleges in rural areas are more likely to offer housing on campuses than in urban areas. The lack of on-campus housing makes participation in sports and other activities more difficult than in naturally occurring colleges.

If you decide to make public college your last resort when it comes to your own academic experience you will be depriving yourself of a great opportunity to lead for the rest of your life. For this reason you should think carefully about the benefits that university transfers will bring to your educational goals.

My biggest complaint when it comes to public colleges compared to major universities was that there were fewer opportunities to study certain classes compared to those classes at university level. You will find that you have to stay within your curriculum at community college level or you risk needing an extra semester or year to complete your graduate degree requirements. Universities tend to offer great flexibility, especially in the basic courses that everyone needs to succeed.

One of my biggest complaints when it comes to public college is the fact that they often have very small libraries than universities. This greatly reduces students' ability to do extensive research without exceptional cases. Universities already have deeper pockets than a regular public college. For this reason they will have larger libraries and equipment and whistles in addition to the regular community college. We hope to see this change in time. Despite the disadvantages that may be associated with public college education, I feel that it far outweighs the benefits offered by a community college education.
