It is a novel written by the American author Ernest Hemingway in 1951 in published in 1952.

          This is the story of a fisherman named Santiago a boy named Mandolin and a large marlin fish. The story opens with Santiago having  84 days without catching a fish. so he was considered unlucky by others. The boy was forced by his parents to leave the old man and Join another successful fisherman. He always helped the old man with his need. One day the old man prepared his lines for fishing at noon a big marlin took the place by him deep in the water. He made a great effort to pull in the marlin to the boat. But marlin was too strong Santiago struggled to win the battle both were wounded by the fight. but Santiago was developed. On the third day the fish started circling the boat when he saw the fish, he lost his energy and pulled the marlin towards him. Santiago killed marlin with a harpoon.

          He tried up the fish and started his journey back home. On the way, a shark got attracted to marline blood and attempted to eat it. He killed the sharks but he lost his weapon. By nightfall, the marlin was completely eaten by the sharks. Santiago was left with a marlin skeleton. The next day Santiago reached the shore and struggled back home. He left the skeleton in the boat. All fishermen came to see and all the fisherman's hearts got filled with great respect and admiration for the old man They asked Mandolin to apologize to the old man on their behalf. He ran for the old man and found him in his home sleeping. He prepared a coffee for the old man and exchanged a promise to go fishing together.

 

" the moral of this Novel story is that to never ever give up and I do suggest everyone reading this book since it is too informative.
