The Language Balochi Is Our Identity

No doubt, when a nation stops learning its mother language, it will vanish from the pages of world history above all when the young generation avoids reading and speaking their language. Because in my opinion, the role of the young generation is to follow their mother tongue, culture, and traditions which their ancestors have been following since the Mhr Gud civilization had taken place. Our ancestors had gifted all these things to us.

I am not against learning other languages and knowing about the culture and traditions of other nations, but giving up reading our language will lose our identity as a nation. There were many nations in the world that did not concentrate their languages; so, they died and now they are part of language death. Today, they are not spoken because they are no more.

5000 years ago, Sanskrit was a widely spoken language in India, but right now it is not spoken because the native of it not only did not value it, but also they stopped writing, speaking, and working because of some reason. Similarly, we as all Baloch are doing the same thing. To know one of the fundamental causes of the disappearance of Sanskrit, Muslim rulers replaced Sanskrit into the Arabic language.  After the Muslim era, the British was ruling the entire India which did the same deed. British replaced Sanskrit with the English language. The language replacement by the different rulers was one of the causes to disappear Sanskrit.

The aim of giving the example is that if we replace our mother tongue (Balochi) with both English and Urdu, then the day is not far that our Balochi language will be included in the list of language deaths.

In conclusion, we should learn both English and Urdu to be in touch with the world, and yes that would be part of our education and knowledge, but Balochi should be made a compulsory subject in schools, colleges, and varsities so that our new generation we will be aware of our mother tongue(Balochi).
