Former Prime Minister
Imran Khan, the president of Tareek-e-Insaf, was born in 1952 in Lahore. He
belongs to the tribe of Mianwali. He got his early education from Cathedral
school. Further, he studied at Etchison College. He was listed as the successful
captain of Pakistan's cricket team. He was the most famous player in the world.
In 1992, he won the Cricket World Cup as captain. Imran Khan was captain of the
British University of Oxford. In 1994, he built Shukat Khanam Cancer hospital. In
2008, with his precious support, Namal University was constructed in Mianwali
and he became the chancellor of Bradford University. Imran Khan founded PTI in
1996.
In 1999, he
supported Pervez Musharraf when he was a member of the National Assembly in 2002.
Khan joined the movement against the government in 2007. In 2013, he was again
elected as a member of the National Assembly and he was accused of rigging the
N League's government. In 2014, he protested against the government. The PTI
was elected as the most successful party in Pakistan, as a result, Imran Khan was
elected as PM of Pakistan on 17th August 2018.
