As Muslims one of our articles of faith is "Iman in Allah's prophets. The prophets were the most pious, truthful, honest, and trustworthy people who were chosen by Allah the almighty, and send His messages to them by His angel Hazrat Jibraeel. So, these people "prophets" were the sources of conveying Allah's messages to the rest of the people. It is widely believed that Allah has sent about 124,000 prophets for the guidance of all mankind who preached the message to him. Some of these prophets’ names are mentioned in Holy Quran.

            The first human on earth is H.Adam who was the first prophet of Allah. It shows that Allah has started His guidance to mankind from the very beginning. He is Allah who has blessed us with his all blessings but among them, the best blessing is His guidance, which started from H.Adam to the last Prophet Hazrat Mohammad PBUH. Allah has completed His guidance in Holy Quran. Allah says in Holy Quran that no one on this earth remains without His guidance. Holy Quran is the guidance for all people of all time.

            Besides Holy Quran there are three other books: Zaboor sent to H.dawood AS, toraith sent to H. Moosa, Injeel sent to Hazrat Isa. Except for Holy Quran other, all books are changed with time since these three books were not for all time. But holy Quran cannot be changed since Allah has taken its responsibility of protection.

            Among all prophets, some famous prophets are H.Adam AS, H. Saish AS, H. Dawood AS, H.Younus AS, H.Zakria AS, H. Yahya AS, H. Yaqoob AS, H.Moosa AS, H.Haroon AS, H.Shoaib AS, H. Uzair AS, H. Yousaf AS, H. Sulaiman AS, Hazrat Nooh AS, H. Salih AS, H.Ismaeel AS, H. Isa As, and the last Prophet Katim un Nabieen Imam ul Anbiah Hazrat Mohammad PBUH. So as Muslims we have Iman on all prophets who were chosen by Allah for conveying His Messages or guidance but among all prophets, Allah has completed His guidance through Mohammad PBUH in Holly Quran, so we must follow the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of Mohammad PBUH.
