Since 1994, the Pakistan Polio Eradication program has been fighting to end the crippling Poliovirus in the country. The milestone of crippling the virus was completed in Pakistan where almost the country was free from polio cases for over 15 months. Unfortunately, it turned out to disappointing that a new case of Polio was reported in North Waziristan in April. The country completed a year without any polio cases. The last case of Polio was found in Balochistan Qila Abdullah in 2021. The National and provincial polio emergency operation centers make ready their teams to operate an investigation to stop the further spread of the virus. Pakistan has reported the third globally Polio case in 2022.

The first two cases were reported in Afghanistan and Malawi. However, a fifteen-month-old boy was affected by Poliovirus. It is the first case over the last 15 months. It is a very challenging situation for Pakistan to stop the Poliovirus from spreading. The minister of National Health Services (NHS) Abdul Qadir Patel did a meeting with the Polio team to show a great effort to eradicate the virus from the country.

So, they should take this single case of Polio seriously and should do something to vanish the crippling disease from the country.
