Suicides among young people continue to be a serious problem. Suicide is the second leading cause of death for children, adolescents, and young adults age 15-to-24-year-olds. Globally 800,000 people die from suicide every year.

Similarly, the majority of children and youth who attempt suicide have a significant mental health disorder, usually depression, which may be associated with feelings of sadness, confusion, and anger.

However, Teen suicide is a cry for help while they are drowning in their pain with no perceivable way out.

Finally, any child or adolescent with suicidal thoughts or plans should be evaluated immediately by a trained and qualified professional.
