Social is a modern
revolution that connects us with the globe it is a way of communication, seeking
information,, and interacting with one another but on the other hand, it is heart-wrenching to pen down that the misuse of social media is at its peak. In fact, youngsters utilize social media as a source to pass their time, they are
busy scrolling the screen to watch reels, stories, and pictures, and they
are distracted by it.
Distractions and the youths on social media (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, etc.) refer to the process by which social media attract the attention and focus of an individual on it. Now a day social media has become an addiction most of us even cannot feel comfortable without social media which is affecting our mental health leading to symptoms of anxiety and depression.
In addition, do you know that on average we touch our mobile phones around 2600 times a day that is why anxiety and depression are expanding? Spending more time with social media causes poor sleep study has shown that increased use of social media has a turn-down effect on sleep quality. According to a report, there were 61.34 internet users in Pakistan reported in 2021 and there are 46.00 million users of social media in Pakistan.
Moreover, Lenin
once said that “The youths are the backbone of any nation" it is the youth who
brings about any change in society. One of the basic units of any society is
the youth which plays an essential role in the creation or its development. but
the current situation is totally the opposite of it. Nowadays the youths are busy
in wasting and spending much of their time on social media. That is the
reason the depression rate of youths is at its peak. Our youths have become so
sensitive that they cannot tolerate even small talk.
To conclude, this
is the appropriate time for youths to study and do planning about their futures
and they should think that what should do to live a bright and happy life.
They need to be critical thinkers, and decision makers, they should think that to
work for the progress of their Society.
