According to media reports the worsening crisis, reportedly has led to citizens fighting over bags of flour and at least one person getting trampled to death. The acute storage of wheat has been a cause of the recent crisis in Pakistan. India's neighbor has been facing Its worst ever flour crisis amid a shortage of wheat. And day by day the flour price is going high like a skyrocket.

In Karachi, flour is being sold for RS 140 to 160 per kg. Meanwhile, in Islamabad and Peshawar, a 10 kg bag of flour is being sold at RS 1500 and 20 kg at RS 2800. In Punjab province from where the flour is coming, the price of flour in Punjab is increased to 160kg by the mill owners. In KPK a 20 kg flour bag is being sold for RS 3100 after the government failed to control the price of the stable. In 2023 the approximate price range for Pakistan wheat flour is between US $ 0.26 and 0.24 per kg or between US $ 0.12 and US $ 0.11 per pound. The price in Pakistan rupee is 39.33 per kg.

All records of flour prices were broken as a 20kg bag of flour reached RS 3000 for the first time in the history of Pakistan. And the citizens of Karachi are forced to buy the most expensive flour in the country. Therefore, the federal minister I s requested that must take immediate steps to make sure that flour prices come down and ample supply is ensured in every nook and corner of the country.
