Terrorism and extremism have been significant challenges for Pakistan, affecting the lives of its citizens and hampering the nation's progress. Pakistan has faced many forms of terrorism including extremist groups attack and etc which have caused instability and economic impact for Pakistan. One of Pakistan's most prominent extremist groups is the  (TTP).

The TTP has carried out numerous attacks targeting civilians, security forces, and government installations. Other extremist organizations, such as Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), have also been active in the region, continuing violence and spreading their extremist ideologies. Pakistan has faced such casualties due to terrorism as according to the Global Terrorism Index 2020, Pakistan ranked 5th among countries most affected by terrorism, with a total of 1,421 deaths caused by terrorism in 2019.


These casualties include both civilians and security personnel who lost their lives in various attacks across the country. Apart from this, Pakistan has faced the economic costs of terrorism according to a report by the Institute for Economics and Peace, terrorism cost Pakistan approximately USD 6.9 billion in 2019. However, terrorism in Pakistan is as much rising and has raised as the extremists have targeted mosques one of the worst attacks them was the attack on the schools in Peshawar in 2014 in which 141 died including kids, teachers and etc.

Terrorism in Pakistan is a significant issue which has destroyed Pakistan economically, and potentially destroyed trade between countries and resist tourists from having a tour here. The government should seriously be ready and must take action on this issue.
