The broken wing

No doubt, the world is full of inspirational authors who impressed millions of people with their creativity. Among them ‘Khalil Gibran’ is known to be one famous writer and artist. However, the strong person opened his eyes to this world in 1883 in Lebanon. Later on, I migrated to America. In 1931 he left for the eternal world.

Khalil Gibran’s writing pieces are very popular and are on the list of best sellers. His book ‘broken wings’ is nonfiction that touches the souls. Because it is the journey of Khalil and Selma’s love.

Selma is the princess of Faris Effendi, the only daughter of Faris. Further, Khalil was the son of Faris Effendi’s friend. Gibran while going to meet his father’s friend, they became attached to each other. That’s why Faris considered him as his family member. Soon Selma and Khalil Gibran fell in love with one another. But on the second side ‘Bishop’ was a rich businessman who brought the proposal of his nephew Mansour Bey for Selma. Faris couldn’t refuse, because he was aware of Bishop. If he rejected the proposal, then he would defame the reputation of Selma in society. Thus, he accepted his proposal.

Selma couldn’t express her love for Khalil to his father. As a loyal daughter, she married Mansour.

After Selma’s marriage, Khalil Gibran didn’t visit Faris Effendi. Because his love for Selma would not let him be in peace. Time passes but Khalil’s affection for Selma increases. After a few years of her marriage, Faris Effendi became the patient of layer cancer at the last stage. There Selma and Khalil Gibran became face to face again. She had a completely broken inner side. His father was only hoping for her to live, but he was breathing his last breath.

At the end of the night, Faris Effendi left his princess lonely in the brutal world and closed his eyes forever.

Mansour Bey just had an interest in Selma’s wealth, not herself. He didn’t care about her feelings who left everything for him. After the death of her father, Selma and Khalil met hidingly in a temple; expressed their pure and unlimited love with each other: listened to the songs of nature, and made ease mentally themselves.

The Bishop became doubtful of Selma. He was being updated about her daily activities, then Selma broke her wings and departed Khalil because she knew if she met him more. Bishop will surely betray him which she couldn’t bear. Selma made him sure that his love is enough for her remaining breath but she is compelled to avoid communicating with him. In the temple, their physical communication ended, but their souls were always gathered.

The book ends with the unpredictable death of Selma, who became a mother after long years of her marriage, but her son came to finish his mother’s sorrows. He could not survive, both Selma and her son passed away in the hospital room of a hospital.
