Underage driving is one of the leading causes of fatal road accidents around the world and yet we see so many teenagers driving in Pakistan. I recently saw a 12-year-old whose feet could hardly reach the brakes, driving a motorcycle at a breakneck speed without even wearing a helmet.
Juvenile
drivers pose a great threat to road safety due to their careless driving and
lack of experience. The responsibility falls both on parents to be more
vigilant of their children's safety whereas traffic police must take all
possible measures to discourage those teenagers from driving.
It is my humble request to the government of
Balochistan to take serious actions on this issue as soon as possible.
