Keeping fast is obligatory for all Muslims to keep fast in the month of Ramazan. Fasting is the third pillar of Islam after Kalma and Namaz. Our dear Prophet Hazrat Mohamed peace be upon him said fasting is not only bound oneself from eating and drinking for the entire day, but also we should bound our all organs from wrongdoings. We should avoid backbiting, watching films, listening songs, spending time in bazaar, and useless discussions. We should use our time wisely by worshipping Allah, reciting Holy Quran, and offering prayers. In the month of Ramazan, every good deed or every worship or recitation is 70 times more virtuous. It means it is the season of gaining virtue. During fasting, we must show kindness to everyone and must be cooperative, merciful, generous, and energetic in every good deed.

Allah says in Holy Quran: The one who keeps fast in the Month of Ramazan, I will reward him or her myself. And Allah also fixed one of the doors of Jannat for those Muslims who keep fast in the month of Ramazan. The very door is called " Baab ul Riyan".

Fasting is proving to be very much essential for our health. It gives relief to our stomach which runs 24/7 for the entire year but gets rest in the Month of Ramazan. It helps our digestive system to work properly. It vanishes many diseases, such as cancer, cholesterol, fatness, heart disease, and so on.

During the month of Ramazan, during fasting we give charity, Zakat, Fitr to the poor, orphans, and widows, so that they celebrate their Eid ul Fitr happily.

As Muslims, we are too lucky to have such worship which is not only beneficial in this world to keep us healthy but also helps us to get success in the world hereafter.
