Communication is a process through which you convey your messages to others. In other words, Communication is also the act of giving, receiving, and sharing information or talking, writing, listening, and reading. And good communicators always listen, speak and write carefully. They respect every individual's opinions.
Strong communication skills can help us to interact
vis-Ã -vis and in the online world. Texting, chatting, and posting
responsibly depend on understanding how words and images affect others.
There are seven essentials of understandable
communication. They are: creating ideas, encoding them, an exceptional sender,
an understandable medium, a wishful receiver, decoding them, and fruitful
feedback. The absence of anyone from aforementioned converts the superb
communications to miscommunication which means a failure to communicate
accurately.
1) Creating ideas: It is the first and initial
step of communication where the speaker develops imaginations and thoughts in
his mind before communicating.
2) Encoding them: the second and vital process of
communication through which the communicators covert the ideas into words in
order to convey the messages.
3) exceptional sender: An exceptional sender is
a person by whom messages are passed by or forwarded to the listeners
accurately.
4) Medium/ language: Language should be
understandable to help the communicators in expressing and conveying their
thoughts, feelings, and emotions. In other words, language is considered a
primary tool of communication.
5) A wishful receiver: The fifth important and
crucial part of communication is a wishful receiver, who can be a reader,
listener, or observer of the communicators. It demonstrates what the
communicators want to convey.
6) Decoding them: It is conducted by the receiver
to receive and examine the messages. Decoding is taking out outcode and putting it
into an understandable language. In other words, the decoding means
translating speakers' messages into an understandable format.
7) A fruitful feedback: It is the final essential
of communication that refers to the response or reaction of the receiver to the
senders' messages.
Furthermore, there are 7 c's of communication which are also
known as principal for written and spoken communication to ensure that they are
effective. The seven c's are clarity, completeness, conciseness,
consideration, concrete, and courtesy. Now let's discuss them one by one.
1) Clearance: Effective communication must be
clear about what the communicators want to say. They need to use simple
language, use simple structures and focus on the core point of your message.
2) completeness: Completeness is one of the most
important parts of the 7 C's of communication. When creating a message, it's
important to give the recipient all of the information they need to follow your
line of reasoning and reach the same conclusion you have reached. This means that
what message you want to convey should be complete.
3) conciseness: Conciseness means what you want to
convey in the least possible words. In other words, keep your message short and
simple. Don't use 10 words if you can use five to complete. And don't repeat
your message.
4) Consideration & Coherent: In order to make
communication effective to the senders, one should think and look from the
receiver's angle if your communications are not coherent they will not be
effective. Make sure your communications are considered and coherent you should
have a logical flow, style, tone, and language.
5) Concrete: Concrete communication implies
being particular and clear rather fuzzy and jumble. In concrete communication, the senders convey "to the point" or factual messages. Your argument
should be based on solid facts.
6) Correctness: It is an essential part that both
the factual information and the language you use, should be correct. The
senders should not transmit any message unless he is not sure of its
correctness and there should be no grammatical errors in the communication.
7) Courtesy: Courtesy means friendly and helpful
behavior towards others. The message of the senders should be polite and
reflective.
Thus, we need to follow these above guidelines to be better communicators.
