The second
caliph, Hazrat Umar Farooq, during his reign, used to get up at night and take
care of the needs of the people, saying that if a dog died because of thirst on the
banks of the Euphrates, then Omar would have been asked about it on the Day of
Resurrection. In addition, thirteen people have so far lost their lives due to a severe shortage of water and drinking contaminated water in Pirkoh Dera Bugti.
It is said that the state has the status of the mother, can any mother tolerate her
son dying of thirst, not at all.
In relation, water is a basic need, and the basic needs are mentioned in UDHR 1945, on the other side, it is mentioned in chapter I as a Fundamental Right in the constitution of Pakistan 1973. And the constitution guarantees the fundamental rights of every citizen and the state is too responsible for giving the rights of every citizen. But it is deplorable to state that in modern times other nations of the world are stepping on the moon and Mars but the people of Balochistan are dying of thirst.
Ultimately, I would like to humbly request to the Chief Minister of
Balochistan to take immediate action on this issue.
