Disaster management is
the process of coordinating and utilizing the available resources to deal with
emergencies affecting, in order to save lives, avoid injuries and minimize
losses: however, if we throw a glance towards Pakistan, it is the sixth populated
country in the world but disaster still is making many people homeless due to
not managing the disaster. Hence, there are some phrases that are disaster
management phases. These phases are very important for managing them. Such as
mitigation, preparedness, and many more. Mitigation is the first disaster
management phase is such a sustained action that reduces both short-term and
long-term risk to people and property from the hazards and their effects. It
involves activities and of responder and manager etc. it is an effort to shorter
the impact that disaster causes.
preparedness is the second phase of disaster management, which is a set of steps that increase the ability of communities and the leader to respond to disaster, the key to effective disaster management is a readiness to provide a rapid emergency response. It is everyone’s responsibility to be prepared to face hard situations. Further, Pakistan has fallen victim to disaster many times. The earthquake of 2005, the Hunza landslide, and floods of 2010 and 2014 are some of the incidents. The present information suggests that Pakistan has suffered from large disasters due to the lack of disaster management. The flood of 2010 death a serious blow to Pakistan. And mainly responsible for not managing the floods were KPK Sindh Balochistan and Punjab.
The heavy rains also affected the Indus
river basin. Almost one-fifth of Pakistan submerged in water at least 20
million people were directly affected by the destruction of property. In the same
way, in In1935 earthquakes which occur in the region of Quetta caused many destructions
in many areas of Azad Kashmir and KPK. According to date, more than 73,000
people died and 2.8 million people become homeless. If the leader or the
thinker manages for disaster, then may the people do not suffer from such
problems. At last, the government is requested to take serious action against
such problem then may the country does not face such huge problem.
