1. Introduction

Facebook is the world’s largest social network. Its user base is estimated to be more than 2.5 billion people in 174 countries. It is also the world’s most valuable brand, with a market value of $500 billion as of 2011. Facebook has over 2,000 employees, almost all of them female. The company was founded by Mark Zuckerberg and his hacker friends around Harvard University in 2004 on a campus that they rented out to facilitate their projects.

It was originally called Face mash but later changed its name to Friendster in the early days, it was an incredibly simple network where everyone assigned a numerical identification number called a "friend code" (1-65535) which everybody shared on their profile page. Friends could see each other's photos and status updates regardless of whether or not they were friends themselves; however, their pictures and status updates were private unless both users clicked "Share." Friendster users could also send messages and photos to each other via instant messaging.

Facebook launched in February 2004 when Zuckerberg had only graduated from college; he was 23 years old at the time and had no experience whatsoever with technology. His friend Dustin Moskovitz helped him set it up so that people could upload photos and status updates to their profile pages or send messages directly between each other through their Instant Messaging program – Migrate. A month later, the first version of Facebook came online under Moskovitz's leadership as the program director before being renamed Facebook in July 2006 after employees liked a photo posted by Zuckerberg on his blog showing him playing with an orange ball while wearing headphones while wearing an orange baseball cap atop his head. After three months as a chief operating officer, Moskovitz left Facebook after deciding it wasn't making enough money for him to justify its stock price being worth much money — it was then named Facebook Inc., and Zuckerberg became CEO for eight months before leaving in April 2007 to start another startup called Edu ventures.

In April 2008, Zuckerberg returned as CEO after retaining board members from his previous company who helped him turn that company into what eventually became Facebook Inc. (an initial public offering). He then went about revamping the site so that it could reach even more people around the world using what he described as "the social graph" — connections between people based not on physical location but rather on how closely they share similar interests or interests that are within a certain genre – such as music - which provided easier ways for ordinary people

2. History

The mission of Facebook is to give people around the world a place where they can share and discover the things they care about most. You are a part of that community and we want you to be successful.

Welcome to Meta.

Facebook was founded in April 2003 by Mark Zuckerberg and Chris Hughes as a way for people to communicate with each other through short messaging applications on their mobile devices.

The original idea behind Facebook was to create a more efficient way for people to communicate by making it easy for them to send messages quickly, without having to use their desktop computers, or have special software installed on their phones. Since then, Facebook has expanded into social media platforms such as Instagram, WhatsApp Messenger, Messenger, and Facebook Messenger Kids.

Facebook has also been involved in Blockchain technology such as Libra Coin and has bought up companies like WhatsApp and Oculus VR.

3. Products and Services

Facebook is a social network. It is the largest social network in the world. Facebook is not just a social network, though. It also has an advertising business, a real estate business, and more, all of which it calls "Facebook's services". Facebook’s services are:

Facebook - The service that all of your friends use to talk to you and share what they have been up to.

Instagram - A visual communication tool that lets users express their ideas and feelings in pictures.

WhatsApp - Messenger for Facebook users to communicate with people they know through Facebook.

4. Strategy

Facebook, Inc. (NASDAQ: FB) is the world's leading social media platform, with more than 2 billion monthly active users.

Facebook can be used as a tool for marketing, but it’s also a social network for people who have no interest in advertising and whose opinions you’re not interested in hearing.

5. Marketing Plan

It can be difficult to get started with a new social media platform, but it’s worth persevering through the confusion. If you’re still stuck, you could always read about how to use Facebook in our primer series.
