World TB Day|| Observed on 24th March

In Balochistan province, the TB celebration started earlier on 21 March 2017. The main purpose of celebrating this day is to create awareness among the people regarding the critical disease. Besides this, Tuberculosis is now considered the second most lethal infectious disease in the world after covid-19. Currently, the number of Tuberculosis patients in the province is around 40,000: however, TB is both preventative and treatable. In 2020, 1.5m people died of this disease. As many as 600,000 cases were reported in Pakistan every year and out of which at least 44,000 people die of this infection.

Thus, Tuberculosis is a curable disease, but proper medication and care is extremely mandatory.
